Ryan Stodtmeister is a partner and shareholder of the law firm and practices in the areas of estate planning, business planning, and asset protection. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Stodtmeister worked for a large regional law firm and gained valuable experience in the area of civil litigation, representing clients in matters ranging from small claims disputes and straightforward arbitration hearings to complex litigation, appeals, and corporate affairs. His experience helping individuals and businesses provides him with a unique set of skills to help his clients achieve their wealth and legacy planning goals.
Education
Mr. Stodtmeister attended Brigham Young University where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in Philosophy, graduating magna cum laude and with honors. He then received a Master of Arts degree from New York University in Interdisciplinary Humanities and Social Thought and subsequently taught and studied as a Ph.D. candidate in UC Santa Barbara’s English department before attending law school. He then earned his Juris Doctorate degree from the UCLA School of Law with a specialization in business law. Mr. Stodtmeister is a member of the American Bar Association, the Washoe County Bar Association, and the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys.
Personal
Ryan is a third generation Nevadan who considers himself lucky to be able to work and raise his family in his hometown of Reno, NV. In 2004 he married his high school sweetheart, Whitney, with whom he has three children. Ryan and Whitney strive to serve in their church and community and support local organizations focused on protecting and assisting survivors of domestic violence and trafficking. In the winter you can find the Stodtmeister family skiing at Mt. Rose and in the summer wake surfing and fishing out on Pyramid Lake. Ryan is also passionate about playing golf and guitar.
