Prominent Reno estate planning law firm attorneys at Anderson, Dorn & Rader were invited to attend one of the nation’s premier legal educational conferences held in San Diego, CA from October 16-21, 2019. The American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys hosted their 26th annual Fall Summit, which included attendees from over 100 qualified estate planning law firms from around the country.
The American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys is committed to providing cutting-edge legal education and practice management tools to transform the way their Member attorneys practice law. The Fall Summit is geared towards creating an environment for attorneys to grow personally and professionally, with a focus on implementing the right mindset to foster communication and meaningful relationships within their communities. “It is incredibly important to us that our Members possess the skills to build genuine relationships with their clients. This event we focused on the power of teamwork and incorporating mindful leadership for law firms to help their clients create a lasting legacy,” said Sanford M. Fisch, CEO and co-founder of the American Academy.
Renowned basketball coach and speaker, Steve Fisher, kicked off the Summit on Thursday with his keynote address focused on building and sustaining a strong team, and employing effective leadership skills. Our attorneys also received training on the newest developments in estate planning during the sessions: Ethics: Issues of Attorney Client Privilege and Ethical Issues When Changing Fiduciaries, Trust Administration, Disaster Preparedness, Document Fraud in Elder Abuse and Probate Cases, Engaging Clients in Advance Care Planning and End-of-Life Discussions, and Estate Planning Considerations in Divorce.
Jerry Dorn, managing partner, reflected, “Attending Academy Summits empowers us with the tools we need to continuously improve our legal practice, and ensure that we can best represent our clients’ interests by having the most up-to-date knowledge and education in our area of legal expertise. These benefits extend to the ways in which we interact with our clients, as we find new ways to connect with those we serve.”
